This is the entrance to the "womb of Sedona", which leads to the Shaman's Cave, an ancient ceremonial site. This place is so well hidden by the Spirits of the Place that only a few people a year have the privilege of visiting it.
A great friend atop the Council of Elders. Note the circular structure she is standing on; created by the powerful vortex energy. This place will light you up!
Eva taking in the energy of a powerful "box canyon" in the Secret Wilderness Area.
There are many secret archaeological spots throughout Red Rock country that can be visited when treated with respect and "no trace" etiquette. This awesome spot is well hidden and seldom visited. Which is just how we like it!
This is one of my favorites of the ancient cliff dwellings. Ceremonies conducted here have a special magic....
The spring fed Oak Creek flows through Red Rock Country. There are many power spots along this sacred body of water. In this spot the water has just come up from the ground by way of many springs within the last 12 miles. The water is super energized with the power of the Earth Mother. Notice the interaction of water, sun, and rock creating the amazing reflections that move constantly on the wall opposite me. I call this the "Sedona Light Show". Photo of me by Nancy Bartell (who took most of the photos for my Beyond 2012 book)
Many ancient tribes marked power spots with petroglyphs (art that is carved or pecked into the rock). This site in Beaver Creek near Sedona exhibits many common symbols including the three and four fingered figures of people with "alien" type heads...
Photographer Nancy Bartell exploring an energy portal in the Red Rocks in the canyon high above the Oak Creek.
The power spots of Sedona are many and varied. This one is located in the energy center created by Cathedral Rock and Schuerman Mountain. In this photo I am honoring the spirits of the plants and animals of Schuerman Mountain, where I used to live, with a chant-song of thanks for the lessons they have shared with me over the years.
